I am a fiber artist. Nature is my inspiration and my recent research focuses on environmental risks and sustainability. Like the works of nature, my artworks are the result of a long process of design and execution. They live in the realms of time, between transience and metamorphosis. They are reflections on life, which flows in the constant wonder of existence and in the surprise of the future.
The lack of preciousness or rarity of the materials I use is counterbalanced by the time taken to transform them. I create my sculptures by assembling heterogeneous materials using traditional thread processing techniques (weaving, filet, gauze, crochet, tricot…) in new ways. The form of my works responds to needs of order, structure and regularity which often find support in the modularity of the whole.
